Helping Hands is a local not-for-profit organisation supporting families across Melbourne’s north-west. Through the generosity of people like you, we operate four Op Shops that help fund our Emergency Food Relief and Furniture & Essentials Assistance programs.
We don’t receive government funding—our lifeline is the support of the community. Your donation helps provide food, furniture, and essentials to local families doing it tough. Whether you give goods, groceries or money, you're offering hope and dignity to someone who needs it.

Donate Goods & Household Items
We gladly accept most good-quality items to sell in our Op Shops. Sales from our Op Shops directly fund the support we provide to local families in need.

If you're within 10km of Airport West (or 5km of our other stores), contact us to arrange a collection. -
Pantry Donations
Our Sunshine and Airport West Community Pantries support 500+ families every week.
We accept:
Non-perishable food items
Perishable goods (if delivered in person)
Toiletries and household basics
Drop off at any Op Shop, or directly to our team members at Sunshine or Airport West.Businesses welcome!

Our four Op Shops are happy to take in donations of clothing, bric-a-brac and furniture in good condition (any updates posted on top of this page or on our socials). Please note all items dropped-off will be at our teams’ discretion on the day.

If you have large furniture that you’re unable to bring down to one of our four Op Shops, you can request a collection of those items with our team! Please send through photos of furniture you’d like to donate to the email below with your contact details and our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Please note, due to our resources and small collection team we are only able to collect within 10km of our Airport West store and 5km out from our other stores (Sunshine, Preston and Roxburgh Park).
