Helping Hands is taking a short break over the holiday period.

Our op shops will be closed from Saturday 20th December 2025 and will reopen on Monday 5th January 2026. Both Sunshine and Airport West Community Pantries will reopen from the 12th January by appointment only* with our office reopening on Monday 5th of January 2026.

How we can help

  • Community Food Pantry

    Reopening January 12th, 2026

    Our Community Pantries in Airport West and Sunshine provide emergency food by appointment, ensuring families in need receive the help and support they deserve during tough times.

  • Material Aid Program

    Closed for 2025

    We provide essential household furniture to individuals and families in need, helping them create a safe and comfortable home. Support is offered through a simple referral process, ensuring help reaches those who need it most.

  • Furniture Donation Collection

    Closed for 2025

    Our collection team is happy to pick up quality furniture donations, which are distributed across our three stores. Every item sold helps fund our two Emergency Support Programs, directly supporting families in need.

  • Community Kitchen

    Open til Saturday 20th December 2025

    Located at our Airport West Op Shop, our kitchen serves hot meals everyday for just $5! Come in for lunch and grab afternoon tea - our kettle’s always on.

DONATING

Dropping off donations to us

Monday - Saturday
9.30am - 3.30pm at all our stores

Please note all our stores will be closed during the Christmas holiday and will be reopening from January 5th 2026.

Our stores depend on the kindness of the community’s donations. If you have household items or furniture in good condition that you'd like to give a second life, we’re happy to accept them at any of our stores. Simply drop these off during our donation hours at any of our three stores.

We’re also incredibly grateful for financial donations, which help us continue our work supporting families in need and running our community programs. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.
